I feel like reviews should come from people who were really there. Like, if you went to the event, share what it was actually like, the crowd, the setup, the vibe, what stood out, what didn’t... Otherwise it’s not really helpful, you know?

I ordered one book and somehow got a completely different one in the package. The weird part is the receipt showed the correct title, so I have no idea how it got mixed up. It was supposed to be a gift, which made it even more frustrating. When I tried to get it sorted out, I felt like I was being talked down to, like I was the one who didn’t understand what I ordered. Just a really annoying experience overall.

"Fine enough, just a little awkward"
I used Little City Books to look for a book. It worked. Mostly. Pages loaded without any real issue, so that part was fine. But actually getting around the site felt a bit clunky, like I kept needing one or two extra clicks.

The search did what it was supposed to do, I guess, but it wasn’t always obvious where things were. On my phone, the layout felt kind of old. Not terrible. Just not as smooth or easy as I expected.

"Return hassle ruined my plans"
I tried to return a book I ordered from Little City Books, and it turned into such a headache. I figured it would be a quick thing, but I had to hunt around for return info, wait forever for email replies, and the instructions were super unclear. I’d actually set aside time to get this handled before heading out, and the whole mess ended up throwing off my plans for the day. By the time they finally got back to me, it felt like they were just trying to make it difficult. I won’t be ordering from them online again.

I was excited to order a few books here, but after checking around, I found the exact same titles for quite a bit less on other sites. Compared with competitors, the pricing just didn’t feel very fair, so I ended up buying elsewhere.

"Disappointed with the packaging"
I was let down when my book arrived. It came in a flimsy mailer with almost no protection, so the corners were bent and the cover had a noticeable crease. For a bookshop, that feels like something they should really get right. Not the best experience, and I’m not sure I’d order from them again.

"I had an okay experience with the site..."
I had an okay experience with the site overall. My gut feeling is that it's a solid place to browse, but the inventory is kind of hit or miss. A few books I really wanted were out of stock, which was disappointing, but I still ended up finding some good ones. I just wish the stock info felt a little more up to date. Not a bad shop, just a mixed experience for me.

I did find a few books I was excited about, and the selection isn’t bad by any means. I guess I just went in expecting a bigger variety, especially with newer releases and a couple of the genres I usually read. It’s a decent spot if you’re browsing, but it felt a little more limited than I had hoped.

"Didn’t really get the community vibe I expected"
I was expecting more of a local hangout feel, with events or little community things going on, but it felt quiet and kind of disconnected when I visited. Maybe I just came at the wrong time, or maybe they keep all the good stuff hidden from outsiders like some secret neighborhood club, who knows. Either way, it didn’t really feel like the community-focused place I had in mind

"Book arrived in rough shape"
I ordered a used book from littlecitybooks.com, it showed up in much worse condition than I was expecting. I know used books can have some wear, but this felt like more than normal wear and tear.
The cover was bent up, there were dirty marks on it, and the pages had a musty smell. A few pages were folded, and one even had writing on it. None of that was made clear in the listing, so I felt kind of ignored as a customer, like the actual condition didn’t really matter.
I wasn’t expecting a perfect book, but I did expect an accurate description. The whole thing was disappointing, and I probably wouldn’t order from them again unless they start being much more upfront about condition.

"Took a while to hear back"
I hate to leave a low rating, but my experience mainly came down to communication. I reached out with a question and it took quite a bit longer than I expected to get any kind of response.

When I followed up, I still felt like I was left waiting without a clear update. It wasn’t the end of the world, but it did get frustrating since I was really just looking for a simple answer.

I understand they may have been busy, and I’m sure that happens, but even a quick message would have made a big difference. Based on this experience, I’m not sure I’d order from littlecitybooks.com again
